Graveside services for Joyce D. Baker will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX. Mrs. Baker died on April 2, 2009 at Trophy Club, Texas with her family beside her. Waldo Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 
Joyce was of the Baptist faith. Born on October, 30, 1930 in Sherman, TX the daughter of Herschell Hicks and Epsy Sutherland. She married Wayne G. Baker on March 2, 1957. She worked beside her husband, Wayne, at Baker Exterminating for 42 years. 
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Griffin and husband Jerry of Trophy Club, TX, and Tonya Johnson and husband Tommy of Frisco, TX. She had one granddaughter, Erica Griffin of Trophy Club, TX, one sister Norene House and husband Bill of Sherman and one brother Chester Sutherland and wife Evelyn of Sherman. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Especially one nephew, Rusty Sutherland who worked for Wayne and Joyce and when they retired in 1996, he purchased the business and continues to keep the name Baker Exterminating. 
Special thanks to Shalise Washington who provided special care during her last months. 
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wayne G. Baker in August, 2007. 
The family will receive friends at Waldo Funeral Home on April 3, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 

Sherman- Funeral services for Wayne Gilford Baker will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 20 at Waldo Funeral Home. Paul Jennings of Grapevine, Texas will officiate. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Jerry Beard, Bill House, Rusty Sutherland, Chester Sutherland, Earl Cripe and Delbert Clountz serving as pallbearers. Mr. Baker passed away Friday, August 17 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center at the age of 81. 
Wayne was born on October 7, 1925 in Whitesboro to the late Henry and Ida (Lexton) Baker. He served in the Marine Corp during World War II, stationed primarily in Hawaii. Wayne was assigned to the K9 Unit and also boxed for the Marines. Wayne and Joyce Hicks married on March 2, 1957 in Sherman. He owned and operated Baker Exterminating for 42 years and also had several service stations in the Sherman area. Wayne enjoyed spending time at Lake Texoma and flying airplanes as a pilot for the civil air patrol. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was a Baptist. 
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce of Sherman; two daughters, Sandra Griffin and her husband Jerry of Trophy Club and Tonya Johnson and husband Tommy of Frisco; a granddaughter who took special care of her ?Pa?, Erica Griffin of Rockwall; one sister, Pat Beard and husband Jerry of Grapevine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Thomas, and a twin brother, Wallace Baker. 
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
