Funeral services for Virginia Lee Baker will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 11 at Waldo Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Noble officiating. Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Baker passed away Monday, July 6 at her home in Sherman at the age of 90. 
Virginia was born on December 5, 1918 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Virgil and Faye (Delimeter) Slaughter. She graduated from Sherman High School and Austin College. Virginia was married to Buster Graves from 1937 until his death in 1956 and was later married to Coleman Baker from July 1962 until his passing in June 1994. Mrs. Baker was a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at Crutchfield Elementary School for over 50 years. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherman for over 81 years having been baptized in the church on April 1, 1928. As a member at First Baptist, Mrs. Baker taught the same Sunday School Class for over 50 years. She was also a charter member of the Rio Rojo Study Group with 50 plus years involvement.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her son, Virgil Graves of Fair Oaks, Texas; three grandchildren, Laura Lee Graves of Denver, Alan Boyd Graves of San Diego, and Scott Austin Graves of Denver; one sister, Zellie Hanson and her husband Maurice of San Antonio; three nieces, Maridell Nevit of Plano, Judy Wilmeth of Tyler, and Becky Neuhaus of Houston. She was preceded in the death by parents and her two husbands. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Education Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church or the Ministry of Encouragement at First Baptist Church at 400 S. Travis, Sherman, TX 75090, the Austin College Education Fund at 900 N Grand, Sherman TX 75090 or Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W. Center, Sherman, TX 75090.
