Howe - W.H. Welch died suddenly at his home, Howe, Route 2, at 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Reagan, minister of the Van Alstyne Church of Christ and Rev. J.F. Selcraig, pastor of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Sherman.  Interment was in West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Otto Chappell, Elmer Doyle, Carson Burchfield, Marshall Purdon, Delton Bledsoe, and A.L. Mulder.
Mr. Welch, son of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Welch, was born in Tennessee, October 15, 1880.  He was married to Miss Minnie Lee Jordon March 20, 1909 in Celina.  He was a farmer in the Gunter community for a number of years and operated the ice station in Whitewright for 6 years.  He retired in 1944.  He was a member of the Van Alstyne Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, J.H. Welch of Andrews; C.B. Welch of Denton; T-Sgt. Woodrow Welch in Germany; R.L. Welch of Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. W.P. Miller of Sherman; one brother, Rev. J.C. Welch of Center Point; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
