J.N. "Newt" Wiley

J.N. "Newt" Wiley, 72, retired farmer, died at his home, 402 South Walnut, Tuesday morning.
Funeral services were held at Waldo Funeral Home chapel Thursday afternoon with Rev. J.A. Ellis, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducting the services.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Wiley was born in Putnam County, Tennessee, March 23, 1876, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wiley.  He was married to Beulah Wright at Fate, Texas.  He came to Sherman 12 years ago.  He was a salesman for the Singer Sewing Co. for 2 years.  He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Robert L. Wiley, Navy stationed in Germany; Eugene Wiley of Dallas; and Wilburn Wiley of Seagoville; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Millinex of Denison; one brother, Walter Wiley of Sarah, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Welch of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and 3 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Will Denton, Louie Wagoner, Lee Agnew, Cecil Cordell, Noble McPeek and Raymond Law.
