Frank C. Sullivan
10 July 1928 - 19 October 2007


Mr. Sullivan was born in Stockbridge, Michigan, son of Frank and Mary Murphy Sullivan.  Frank passed away in Sherman, Texas at the age of 79.
He attended schools in Stockbridge and Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He was a graduate of Kelloggville High School, Grand Rapids, where he played basketball and baseball.  He attended Michigan State University and graduated from Austin College, Sherman, Texas.
Frank was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 through 1952.  During his military career he was stationed at a number of air bases in Texas and Wyoming.  While stationed at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, he met and married Miss Joyce Dollison of Sherman on December 28, 1950, a love story that lasted 57 years until his passing.  The couple were blessed with 2 children.
Mr. Sullivan was active in many civic and church organizations.  He was a Scoutmaster and Explorer Adviser for Boy Scout Troop 6 and Troop 36.  He organized Post 6 and Post 36 while on the troop committee from 1976-1980.  He was also a member of the American Veterans Post 126 in Michigan and the American Legion Post 29 in Sherman.  He was a charter member of the National WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.  Frank also served as a leader and teacher of children's church at North Park Baptist for 12 years and later served in the church accounting department.
Frank retired from Safeway Stores Inc. as a District Office Manager after 30 years.  He then worked for the Sunshine Shoppe as an environmental engineer specialist.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Sullivan, of Sherman; son, Steven and wife, Raymolyn, of Sherman; daughter, Shelly Ann Sullivan of Sherman; grandchildren, Patti Burt and husband, Brian; Craig Sullivan and wife, Lacy; Jennifer Sullivan, all of Sherman; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Cory Burt of Tom Bean; Isaiah Sullivan, Cameron Gaskins, Haylie Gaskins and Conner Mahboub, all of Sherman; sister, Donna Hill of Lowell, Michigan; brother-in-law, Jerry Dollison of Sherman; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends that feel like real family members.
Funeral services were held at Waldo Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Dacus officiating and assisted by Rev. Paul Wheelus and Rev. Charles Sneed.
Burial with military honors from Sheppard Air Force Base were held at West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Bill Burton, Mark Bannister, Jerry Collins, Paul Carter, David Plyler, Joe Henderson, Jess Mahboub, and Robin Bridges.  Honorary pallbearers were Gene Larkin, Dayle Willingham, James Talley, Jack McKinney, Stanley Oakley, Homer Holcomb, and Claude Tillman.
