Annie Wharton, the six-year-old daughter of Prof. J.E. and Mrs. Pattie C. Wharton, died at their home in East Sherman, yesterday morning at half-past one o'clock, of congestion.  Prof. Wharton and his estimable wife have the sympathies of their many acquaintances in Denison.

Was Pioneer of Sherman and former head of Austin College

Captain John E. Wharton, 81 years old, died at his home, no. 1403 Richards Street, this morning at 7: 15 o'clock.
Held at the First Presbyterian Churchh tomorrow at 10:30 o'clock.  Pallbearers: Prof. D. F. Eagleton, Silas Hare, C. L. Stowe, M. E. Dorsett, Henry Bone, W. G. Richardson, active - moved to texas in 1869. 
Survived by two sons John & Will Wharton both of Sherman.  His wife died several months ago.  Burial West Hill.
