Imogene Smith 10 August 1930 - Leslie Eugene Smith 16 October 1929 - 29 September 2011 wed 27 November 1947  The Herald Democrat October 2, 2011 Sherman - Funeral services for Leslie Eugene Smith, 81, of Sherman, Texas were held Monday morning, October 3, 2011 at the Key Memorial United Methodist Church in Sherman. Rev. Albert Fisher officiated and burial followed at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Gene passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman. Leslie was born October 16, 1929, son of Herbert and Gladys Graham Smith. He married Margaret Imogene Moore on November 27, 1947 in Sherman, Texas. Leslie was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemasonry Master Mason and a member of the Travis Lodge 117 in Sherman. He is survived by his wife; sisters, Betty Euler of Evansville, Indiana; Genita Helvey and husband, Jerry, of Howe, Texas; Linda Roe and husband, Johnny, of Sherman; Bobby Moore of Maybank [sic], Texas; and Netha Townley of San Angelo, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Rodney Smith. Pallbearers were Richard Thurman, J.J. Tracy, Danny Roe, Jerry Helvey, Johnny Roe, and Ken Helvey.
