Laverne Rowen of Sherman, Texas, died January 22, 2021.  She was born March 5, 1928 in Truman, Arkansas.  She was the daughter of Clemens "Tex" Murray and Pearl Hunt.  In 1946 Laverne left Arkansas and moved to Greenville, Texas and then later to Sherman where she met and married Hubert Agee.
Laverne married Larry Rowen January 5, 1974.  All together they had 10 children: John, Ronald, Judy, Gary, Steve, Debbie, James, Steven Rowen, James Rowen and Sheila Rowen; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 3  great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 children: her son, Gary, and daughter, Debbie; and 2 grandchildren: Shawn Parnell and Brittany Agee.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; sister, Matilda Finley; and all those already mentioned.
Throughout her life Laverne enjoyed dancing at the VFW.   Every Saturday night you would see her and Larry being the life of the party.  She was employed by Burlington Cotton Mill for 30 years until it closed in 1986. She worked for Sam's Club when they opened in 1992 and retired after 5 years.  During the 1980s they owned and operated a snow cone truck at Fairview Park and were there during the time that her eldest grandson, Brian Agee, played baseball for
Sherman High School.
Larry and Laverne bought a motor home in 1998 and traveled to all 48 states over a period of 8 years, loving their time together.  Laverne had a great passion for helping her family.  She loved everyone and never met a stranger.
A family grave site service was held at West Hill Cemetery on Monday afternoon, January 25, under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
