Norman Fred Carlson, 68, died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sherman. 
Dr. Tom Peel officiated. Interment followed at West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were directed by Waldo Funeral Home.
Norman was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Wheatland, Wyoming, the son of Oscar Carlson and Irene B. Barnes Carlson. He attended schools in Trinidad, Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He married Janet Fisher on Dec. 21, 1958 in Trinidad. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Texoma Rockhounds, Texoma Chordringers Barbershop Chorus, and the Masonic Lodge in Howe. He retired from Texas Instruments after 20 years of employment. He also served in the Army from 1954 to 1957.
Surviving Norman are his wife, Janet Carlson of Sherman; daughters, Margaret White and husband Eddie of Sherman, and Linda Hallmark and husband Larry of Sherman; son, David Carlson of Sherman; brother, George Carlson of California; grandchildren, Mindy Hall of Sherman, Christopher Hall of Denton, Monica Bailey of Durant, and Michael Bailey of Sherman; great-grandchild, Harley Bailey of Durant; cousin, Bonnie Short of Denver, Colo.; and one aunt, Mabel Artery and husband Cleve of Wheatland, Wyo. 
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 401 N. Elm, Sherman, TX 75090.


Janet Carolyn Carlson, 87, graciously passed Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.  Funeral services were held at Waldo Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, April 1, 2021.  Brother Brian Taylor officiated.  Internment followed at West Hill Cemetery.
Janet was born on December 27, 1933 in Denver, Colorado, daughter of Margaret and LeRoy Fisher.  She attended schools in Trinidad, Colorado and graduated from Trinidad Junior College with an Associate Degree in Business.  Janet married Norman Carlson on December 21, 1958 in Trinidad.  She was a member of the First United methodist Church in Sherman, Texas and Texoma Rockhounds and a long time volunteer at Key Care Mission in Sherman.  She loved caring for her grandkids, playing cards, cooking, traveling, taking cruises and doing word search puzzles in her spare time.  Janet was employed by the Howe, Texas ISD as a cafeteria worker and Manager for 20 years.
Surviving Janet are her daughters, Margaret White and husband, Eddie, of Sherman; Linda Hallmark and husband, Larry, of Sherman; son, David Carlson of Sherman; cousin, Bonnie Short of Denver Colorado; grandchildren, Monica Bailey and Justin Clark; Michael Bailey and Danielle George, all of Denison, Texas; Mindy Hall (Andrea Adamczak) of Wylie, Texas; Chris Hall and Lea Hall of Victoria, Texas; and Shelly Carraway and Keith Carraway of Whitewright, Texas; great-grandkids, Haleigh and Kai Adamczak-Hall of Wylie, Texas; Legend Bailey, Nadia and Harley Clark of Denison, Texas; Devlin, Julius and Kayden Carraway of Whitewright, Texas; and Collin and Conner Robles of Victoria, Texas. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
