Coomer 1884 - 1950 The Denison Press Friday, December 1, 1950 pg. 4 DEATHS John Quincy Coomer Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for John Quincy Coomer, 66, of 2841 Crawford St. Road, who died in the Katy hospital Sunday, November 26, after an illness of six months. He had been in the hospital three weeks. Interment was in West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, with Bratcher-Moore in charge of arrangements. Mr. Coomer was born in Brownwood, January 31, 1886 [sic], the son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Coomer. He was married in 1940 to Mabel Montgomery. He was employed by the Katy for 44 years, retiring in May of this year as an engineer on the Choctaw division. He was a member of the First Baptist church and B. of L.E. Survivors are his widow; two brothers, Roy C. Coomer and Geo. D. Coomer, Brownwood; four sisters, Mrs. W.A.
