Joseph Duer, an old resident of Sherman, died at the family home residence, No. 515 East Cherry Street, about noon today.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sarah Duer, and two sons, Fred and Burt of this city.  Two other sons, one residing in Kansas City and the other in Colorado, also survive.  The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Death came to Mrs. Sarah Duer at the home of her son, Fred Duer, 402 East Cherry Street, Thursday morning at 11:15 o'clock, following a long illness.  Mrs. Duer was 88 years of age and for 48 years had been a resident of Sherman.  She was a native of Illinois.
Besides the son with whom she made her home, who is a member of Central Fire Department, Mrs. Duer is survived by three other sons, Burt Duer of Francis, Oklahoma; Geo. Duer of Kansas City; and Milo Duer of Denver.  Also a brother, Isaac Hines, survives.  She was the widow of Joseph Duer.
Deceased was a member of the Methodist Church.  Funeral arrangements had not been made Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. Duer had many friends who will learn of her death with deep regret.
