GUNBY LANKFORD DEAD
Well Known Sherman Young Man Passes Away Suddenly

Gunby Lankford, 23 years old, one of the best known young men in Sherman, died suddenly Saturday night about 9:30 o'clock from the attack of a sudden hemorrhage of the lungs.
He had been in ill health for sometime and only a short time since returned from San Antonio, having spent several months in New Mexico and Southwest Texas for the benefit of his health.  A friend took him to the Elks Club, where he was a prominent member, a couple of hours before the end came and a few moments previous he was sitting conversing with friends.  Suddenly he was attacked with a hemorrhage and death resulted almost instantly.
The news of his death soon spread throughout the city and caused a great shock to the people of Sherman.
Gunby Lankford was the son of Postmaster and Mrs. W.H. Lankford, and besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, W.H. Lankford, Jr. and a sisters, Miss Consuelo Lankford.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 o'clock this morning, conducted by Dr. T.S. Clyce and Rev. J.D. Harling and interment was in West Hill Cemetery.
No young man reared in Sherman was more popular among his friends than was Gunby Lankford. He had the happy faculty of making and keeping friends, and all with whom he came in contact esteemed and admired him.  He had a splendid business turn and had been connected with the Commercial National Bank since completing his education and had received several promotions by reason of his splendid business tact and high character.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Lankford are prominent among Sherman and Grayson county's pioneer citizens and have a wide acquaintance and all will sincerely sympathize with them in their bereavement.
Many beautiful flowers were sent to residence.
