O.P. TAYLOR. WELL KNOWN CITIZEN, PASSES TO HIS REWARD
O.P. Taylor, a well known and well respected Sherman citizen for the past 34 years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.L. Webb, 416 North Ely street. Froday evening at 6:40 o'clock, following several months of declining health.  Death resulted from a stroke of paralysis.  Mr. Taylor was in his 85th years.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Wayne County, Kentucky and was born March 25, 1837.  From early manhood he followed the occupation of farming, in which he engaged after moving to this county 34 years ago.  During this time he had made warm and personal friends with men in every part of the county with whom he came in contact through his integrity and sincerity of character.  He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, and at the time of his death was the senior deacon in Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Mr. Taylor reared a family of 11 children, of whom 5 reside in this county.  They are Harve Taylor, Deputy Sheriff; P. Bart Taylor, George Taylor and Mrs.M.L. Waldrop and Mrs. W.L. Webb.  The remaining children are: W.B. Taylor, Mrs. Robert Smyth and Joe Taylor of St. Joseph, Missouri; Mrs. D.C. Bussey of Timpson, Texas; Mrs. Ernest Gilstrap of Calleo, Missouri and Mrs. W.R. Davis of Billings, Montana.  Mr. Taylor was the uncle of Wayne, Mark, Tom and Ewell Shearer of this city.
Mr. Taylor is also survived by his wife, Mrs. Emerine Taylor.
He made his home at 611 South Willow Street.
It was annouced Saturday that funersl services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from Walnut Street Church of Christ, conducted by the pastor, Rev. L.S. White, and that burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.  The pall bearers will be the 4 sons, Geo. W., W.P., Harve and Bart Taylor; and 2 of Mr. Taylor's nephews.
