 Ka tie Hutcherson Powell 10 July 1936 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, July 16, 1936 pg.5 MORTUARY Mrs. Katie H. Powell, 43, of Sherman died at 4:30 p.m. Friday following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at Sunday afternoon from the Key Memorial Methodist Church in Sherman with pastor, Rev . K.R. Isbell in charge. Burial was at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman. Mrs. Powell was born February 7, 1893 in Sulphur Springs and was reared and educated in Sherman. She was married to M.E. Powell of Whitewright in 1913 and moved to Newport News, Virginia after several years residence at Whitewright. The family later returned to Sherman and had lived there since. Mrs. Powell was a lifelong member of Key Memorial Church. Surviving are three sons, Gerald Powell of Dallas; and Billie and Homer Powell of Sherman; one daughter, Miss Musie Mae Powell of Sherman; her mother, Mrs. Nannie J. Hutcherson of Sherman; three sisters, Mrs. Lelia Shannon of Fort Worth; Mrs. C.H. Lewis of Palacios and Miss Ida May Hutcherson of Sherman; and one brother, Wallace Hutcherson of Atlanta, Georgia.
