Funeral services for Mrs. Pamela L. Upshaw, mother of Mrs. Will Shelton of Bonham, were held in Sherman Tuesday afternoon in the West Hill cemetery with the Rev. J.I. Gregory, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Bonham, officiating, assisted by Dr. Ellis, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Sherman.
Mrs. Upshaw, widow of the late L.L. Upshaw, died at the home of a son, G.M. Upshaw, in Eugene, Ore., and the body was brought by train for the services in Sherman. She was 82 years of age and formerly resided in Sherman and Dennison.
Mrs. Upshaw was a granddaughter of Gen. Mike Bulger, Confederate army, and a direct descendant of John Adams, second president of the United States.
Survivors are four sons, L.F. and W.V. Upshaw, Pasadena, Calif.; T.L. Upshaw, Fulton, Calif.; G.M. Upshaw, Eugene, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Shelton, Grant's Pass, Ore.; Mrs. J.E. Ralston, Cottage Grove, Ore.; Mrs. Will Shelton, Bonham; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Patton and Mrs. Rube Craddock, Jackson's Gap, Ala.; Mrs. J.F. Upshaw, Dallas; one brother, R.D. Banks, Jackson's Gap, Ala.; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shelton, daughter, arrived Monday night from North Carolina where she had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Manley.
Other out-of-town relatives attending the services were Mrs. J.F. Upshaw, Dallas and Hershel Shelton, grandson. Other grandchildren residing in Bonham are Mrs. Hoyt Brown and Mrs. McKee Orick.
