Homer Howard Harris, Jr., age 63 of Denison, Texas, passed away August 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by family.
Homer was born August 31, 1951 in Denison, Texasto Homer Howard Harris and Mildred Luper Howard.  He is survived by his wife Karen Coleman Howard of Denison, Texas.
Homer enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969, soon after graduating from Carroll High School in Ozark, Alabama.  He served in Viet Nam and after 4 years moved back to Denison where he worked for the Corps of Engineers while attending Grayson County College and finishing his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1976.  During this time Homer married Karen Coleman in 1974.  Their first child, Valerie Camille was born while Homer was completing his studies  in 1976, followed by the birth of their son Paul Elliott in 1980.
Homer held several jobs during his time, which include working at Johnson & Johnson as quality control clerk and work at Texas Instruments as a manufacturing engineer, MHMR, and ultimately worked for Goodwill Industries of America.
Homer is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Valerie Howard Tinner (Tommie), son Paul, and granddaughters Lillie and Lyric Tinner.  His surviving siblings include : Donald Howard, Susan Wellman, Eleanor English, Bruce Howard, Lisa Williams, and Andy Howard.
Funeral services for Mr. Howard will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Grand Ave. Church of Christ, Sherman, Texas. Bro. C.E. Shaw will officiate.  Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery.  Public viewing will be Friday 14th, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
