FRANK AKERS
Services for Frank Akers Jr. of 2113 Duchess, 71-year-old retired butcher, who died Thursday in Medical Plaza Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Progressive Baptist Church.
Rev. W.E. McGruder of Progressive Baptist Church will officiate, with burial in West Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Boyd & Smith Mortuary.
Mr. Akers was born in Grayson County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Akers, and married Sarah Boddie.  He was a member of Progressive Baptist Church.
Surviving are his sons, Floyd S. Akers of Van Alstyne and Lee E. Akers, Jimmy L. Akers and Larry Hendrick, all of Sherman; brother, Joe Akers of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Mary M. Thomas and Katherine Malvern, both of Denison; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hartley Sheppard, Elbert Briscoe, Charlie Dupree, Homer Boyd, E.M. Davis and Leamon Parker Jr.
The family will be at the residence.
