William Grady Gray
Graveside services for William Grady Gray of Whitesboro, 85-year-old retired plant manager, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gray died Saturday, February 18, 2007 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.
An honor guard from Sheppard Air Force Base will conduct military graveside honors.
Grady was born February 1, 1922 in Van Alstyne, the son of Shay Gray and Myrtle Jenkins Gray. He attended Van Alstyne schools and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, seeing action in the England and the European Theater. He married Wanda Swatzell on January 22, 1946 in Sherman and they moved to Dallas in 1953 where he was a truck driver and later plant manager for Ashland Chemical Company, retiring in 1984. They moved back to this area ten years ago where he enjoyed ranching, working with horses and cattle in the Whitesboro area. He also rode his horses in various saddle clubs and public activities.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda Gray of Whitesboro; son, William Barry Gray of Lantana, Texas; daughter, Martha Jane Hocutt of Dallas; sister-in-law, Wanda Crook of Sherman; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, and Blake Gray, Mike and Kevin Hammer. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Chris Jackson William, Cody Justin, Zackery and Kailin.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Crook and Billy Wayne Crook.

Mr. Gray will lie in state at Waldo Funeral Home until service time Tuesday.
