It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved friend, Joyce Novelene Shelley.  Novelene passed from this life Thursday morning, December 8, 2021, at the age of 87.
She was born in Ida, Texas on December 25, 1933 and was the only child of William "Buddie" and Luetta Burleson Burk,  Novelene received her education in Tom Bean ISD and graduated from Tom Bean High School in 1953.
She worked for several different businesses in Sherman area, including Whopper Stopper, Texas Instruments, and Piggly Wiggly in Denison and Lectronic Systems in Van Alstyne, Texas from where she retired.
Novelene married James "Mutt" Shelley on December 25, 1964 in Sherman.  They were married 37 years, until his passing in 2002.
Those that knew her, knew that she loved the Lord and Savior with all her heart.  She walked with Christ at an early age and was baptized at East Sherman Baptist Church.  She later became a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sherman.
Novelene is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside services were held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.  Bro. Roger Speers officiated.

"And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord."

Novelene had a great love for all of her church family, all caregivers, Home Health Nurses, neighbors and all of her family that helped during the last 4 years of her life,
