Barney Leno "Red" Elliott, 86, passed away on February 1, 2010. Dannel Funeral Home oversaw the arrangements. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Dannel Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Brown of Victory Life Church officiating. Interment followed in West Hill Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, Red recently moved to Southmayd. He was born on August 20, 1923, in Treece, Kansas to Leno and Pearl Swoger Elliott. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, four Bronze Service Stars, Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars. He married Marjorie Lewis on July 29, 1946, in Oklahoma City. Red worked as an auto body and glass repairman and retired from James Dye Body Shop in 1985.
Red was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He was an avid fisherman and collector of antique fishing equipment and model cars. He also liked to go to garage sales.
Preceding Red in death was a son-in-law, Preston Allen Thomas; 3 sisters, Lillian Goss, Helen Clour, and Maxine Elliott; a brother, Eric Elliott.
Survivors include Red's wife, Marjorie Lewis Elliott, of Southmayd; daughters, Maxine Thomas of Sherman; Barbara Williams and husband, Michael, of Waynesville, Missouri; and Amanda Pepe and husband, Daniel, of Southmayd; sons, Steve Elliott and wife, Patricia, of Southmayd; and Perry Elliott and wife, Karyn, of Claremore, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were Shannon Thomas of Denison, Brandon Williams of Tucson, Arizona, Jason Williams of Phoenix, Arizona, Kevin Williams of Tucson, Arizona, Jacob Elliott of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Matthew Elliott of Claremore, Oklahoma.
