C.P. McCARLEY GOES HOME
After an illness of several years, and after a very serious illness, battling and struggling with death for the past 3 months, on Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 1914, Brother C.P. McCarley went home to his reward.
Brother McCarley had been suffering from this dreadful disease for several years, but desiring to bear the burden alone, he tried to keep it from his family, but at last it conquered his body and for the past 3 months he has suffered intensely, but always patient.
He was a king, loving and affectionate husband and father, and the hope that brings relief, is, that he has gone to that home, where there will be no more sorrow, nor sickness, nor pain, nor death, but one eternal day.
Charles Perry McCarley was born  April 18, 1855 in Clarksville, Texas.  He married Miss Maggie Lee Westbrook March 25, 1885, at the age of 30.  To this union were born 9 children, 3 sons and 6 daughters, all of whom with the wife and mother, survive him.
He was converted under the preaching of Brother Chandler in the Baptist Church and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1898, under the ministry of J.C. Hines.
Bro. McCarley moved with his family from Duncan, Oklahoma to Tioga last December, and in this short time has made many friends in this community who desire to extend to them their sympathy, and trust that the family may be with us many years, to honor and serve Him who knoweht all things, and doeth all things well.
