Funeral services are set for Doyle G. Barton of Sherman, Texas.  
Doyle was born on July 7, 1940 in Moreland, Arkansas to Jesse and Ina (Bradford) Barton and went to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the age of 72.  
Doyle grew up and graduated from Russellville High School, Russellville, Arkansas.  He married the love of his life, Patsy L. Harris, on August 18, 1958 in Russellville.  They have been blessed with almost 55 years of marriage.  Doyle and Patsy have been in the Sonic Drive-In business for 44 years and involved in every aspect of the company.  His hobby was his work and he developed and maintained close relationships with all he met.
Doyle loved spending time with his family, creating and sharing blessed memories.  He was a member of the Sherman Elks Lodge #2280 and former member of Lakeside Dudes and Dolls Square Dance Club.  Doyle and Patsy are faithful members of Luella First Baptist Church.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Deidra (Barton) Meyers, and 3 brothers , Jesse Jr., Bill and Mike Barton.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy L. Barton of Sherman, TX, daughter Paula Barton Griffin of Nacogdoches, TX, son, Craig Meyers and wife, Kim, of Denver, CO, 5 grandchildren, Sean and Jenna Griffin, Andrew, Abigail and Kaitlyn Meyers, and many nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Doyle's life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 10:00 a.m. in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Sid Hunter, Harvey Patterson and Wesley Veazey officiating.
Graveside interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Sean Griffin, Charles Hines, Steve Davis, Billy Alkhatib, Cecil Cordell, Dennis Snider, and Mike Morgan serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Carpenter, Bobby Merritt, Bill McCans, Joe Moore, and Charlie Ballou.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Luella First Baptist Church, 3162 State Hwy 11, Sherman, Texas 75090 or The Barton Family Scholarship Fund, c/o The Alumni Association, SFASU, P.O. Box 6096, Nacogdoches, Texas, 75962.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
