Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Barrett Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Nova Zendia Calhoun, 87, wife of the late James G. Calhoun. She died Thursday at 1:55 a.m. in her home, 522 S. Throckmorton, after an illness of nine years.
Rev. Hargrove Grounds, pastor of Key Memorial Methodist Church and Rev. Claude Johnson, Baptist minister, will conduct the rites.
Pallbearers will be Earl Stone, Linus Jarvis, Freeman Philpot, Claude Blunk, Ray Fogle and Carl Perry. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Calhoun was born in Millwood, Collin County, a daughter of the late John C. and Louise Covey Calhoun. In 1886, she married James G. Calhoun.
Survivors are two sons, W.T. Calhoun and J. A. Calhoun; three daughters, Miss Ethel Calhoun, Mrs Armon Cowan and Mrs. J.H. Alexander and a brother, J. M. Calhoun, all of Sherman ; four sisters, Mrs. Maranda Wygle of Twin Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Lula Brinkley of Denison, Mrs. Scott Gill and Mrs. Tom Dyer, both of Sherman ; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
