 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas   Jack Allen Short 20 April 1934 - 26 January 1987 Specialist First Class US Army Korea, Vietnam  The Herald Democrat May 8 - 9, 2014 Sherman - Inge Hellenthal Short, 82, of Sherman, passed away Sunday May 4, 2014 at Lighthouse Residential Living. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, May 9, 2014 at Dannel Funeral Chapel. Pastor Leland Samuelson officiated. Interment followed immediately afterward in West Hill Cemetery. Inge was born January 2, 1932 and was raised in Germany. On October 4, 1963 she married an attractive man in the U.S. Army, Jack Short, in Mainz-Gonsenheim, Germay. They moved to the United States and in 1972 they settled in Sherman, Texas, where they would remain for the rest of their lives. Although Inge and Jack never had any children of their own, their home was always open to children in the neighborhood who gladly played in their pool. Inge was preceded in death by "my Jack" as she lovingly called hime, when cancer took him in 1987. For the last few months of her life, Inge lived with and was under the loving care of Robert and Ruth Smith of Lighthouse. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas.
