Sherman- A graveside funeral service for Bertha Hope Scoggins will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday May 22 at West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Danny Wood of the West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Ms. Scoggins passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday May 16 at Sherman Healthcare.

Hope was born January 6, 1924 on the family farm near Southmayd to the late A.B. and Eva (Thomason) Scoggins. Hope was a long time employee of the Dallas Police Department where she worked in the records division until retirement. She was a member of the West Sherman Baptist Church.
Ms. Scoggins is survived by two sisters, Clemmie Scoggins and Margaret Sybil Howell, both of Sherman, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Priscilla and Opal Scoggins, and two brothers, Arthur Frank Scoggins and J.R. Scoggins Sr.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday May 21 at Waldo Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Sherman Baptist Church at 1830 W. Washington Sherman, TX 75092.

SHERMAN – Clemmie Scoggins passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Pecan Point Assisted Living Center in Sherman at the age of 99 years. Graveside services will be held at noon on Saturday at West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate. Waldo Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Clemmie was born July 3, 1912 in Blooming Grove, Texas to A.B. and Eva (Thomason) Scoggins.
She moved with her family to a farm in Southwest Grayson County between Dorchester and Southmayd in 1918. It was located on what is now known as Old Scoggins road. Clemmie relocated to Dallas after the war and was a cosmetologist at Byrd's Beauty Salon on Akard Street in downtown Dallas until retirement and moved to Sherman in 2003.
She and her sisters, Margaret Sybil Howell and Bertha Hope Scoggins who preceded her in death, were regular members of West Sherman Baptist Church.
In addition to her two sisters, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Frank Scoggins and J.R. Scoggins. Having never married as the eldest child, she dedicated her life to raising her siblings and their decendents.
Clemmie is survived by her nieces and nephews J.R. Scoggins, Jr., Eva Richard, Richard Scoggins, Jan Currans and her twin Michael Scoggins (deceased), Mark Scoggins, Cathy Johnson, Susan Bileau, Ronald Howell and Ann Waguespack.
The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Friday, March 30 at Waldo Funeral Home.
In addition to flowers, and/or in lieu thereof, memorials may be made to the West Sherman Baptist Church at 1830 W. Washington, Sherman, TX 75092.
