Funeral services for James Alfred Nichols, 81, who lived in Calera, Oklahoma, were held Friday afternoon, in Waldo Funeral Home.  He died Wednesday in a Sherman hospital.  Rev. Bill Millican of Calera, Oklahoma, Baptist minister, conducted the services.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.  Pallbearers were Joe Heatly, Hubert Blake, Earnest Dunn, Steve Davidchik, J.M. Haslip, John Kennedy, Costa Morrow, and Morris Fulkerson.
Mr. Nichols, a native of Springfield, Missouri, lived in Sherman for 40 years before moving to Calera several months ago.  Mr. Nichols retired as a machinist for Hardwicke-Etter.
He was born February 16, 1879, son of Lewis Henry Nichols.  On April 16, 1901 he married Eva Lena Bennett.  After her death in 1957, he married Mrs. Lucy Teen in Sherman on July 3, 1960.  He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Selena N. Harrison and Mrs. W.L. Sullivan, both of Sherman; and Mrs. W.F. Bear of Oklahoma City; a brother, John of McAlester; a sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Smith of Topango, California; grandson, G.A. Miller of Sherman; granddaughter, Gwen Bean; and great-grandson, Jimmy Bean, both of Akron, Ohio.
