 W.S.E. Carpenter 13 September 1848 - 20 May 1901 Aged 52 Yrs. 8 Mos. & 7 Ds. Dallas Morning News 5 September 1898 Died at the Dinner Table Sherman, Tex., Sep 4 - To-day at the dinner table Ephraim Carpenter, aged 86, expired suddenly and without a struggle. He had just finished the "grace", as had been his custom for many years, and had taken a single mouthful of food when he gently laid down and was dead before those nearest him could render the last assistance. He was weak from recent illness which had preyed heavily upon his shattered constitution. He resided with his son, Butler Carpenter, three miles West of the city.  Dallas Morning News 12 October 1898 Carpenter - Sherman, Tex., Oct 10 - Mrs. Dicey Carpenter, aged 80 years, died at her home, six miles west of the city, last evening. She survived her husband, Ephraim Carpenter, who died at the age of 87, but five weeks ago.
