Archie Earl Clark, 60, a native of Tippah County, Mississippi, and resident of Sherman for 53 years, died at his home, 1910 North Travis, Friday afternoon.  He was a retired grocery salesman.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Whiterock Baptist Church.  Dr. J.A. Ellis, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sherman conducted the service.  Rev. John E. King, Denison, and Rev. Bill Brooks, Sherman, assisted.
Pallbearers were Floyd Stracher, Dan Utiger, P.J. Waldrop, Bob Dean, S.O. Tate, and Alton Sistrunk.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery, directed by Barrett Funeral Home.
Mr. Clark was born August 27, 1889 and came to Grayson County at the age of 7 years.  He was the son of A.E. and Ardenia Rutherford Clark.  He was married to Mattie Goods at Sherman, January 1, 1911.  He was a farmer until 1926 and had been in the grocery business at Sherman for a number of years.  He was active in the work of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Edward Clark and Weldon Clark, both of Dallas; his mother, Mrs. A.E. Clark of Sherman; 5 brothers, O.H. Clark and W.M. Clark, both of Sherman; J.J. Clark of Denison; Rutherford Clark of Dallas; amd Hugh Clark of Weatherford; one sister, Mrs. G.E. Davis of Denison; and 2 grandchildren.
