Charlene Lee Brookins

Charlene Rigsby Lee Brookins passed away on January 31, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian WNJ in Sherman, Texas.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, February 2, 2013 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells with interment following at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.  Mr. Jeremie Sweet of the Savoy Church of Christ and Rev. Bill Sessom of the First Baptist Church of Savoy officiated.
Charlene was born October 7, 1926, daughter of John Phillip and Sadie Ellen Rigsby in Altus, Oklahoma.  When she was 8 years old the family moved to Randolph, Texas where she graduated from Randolph High School.  After school, she moved to Denison and worked for the Corp of Engineers during the time that Lake Texoma was being built.  Moving to Sherman, she worled for R.L. Hall Real Estate Company for 25 years.  She also worked for ConAgra Food (Fant Milling Company) and retired after 10 years.  She was a member of the Savoy Church of Christ.
She met and married H.O. Lee; he passed away after 40 years of marriage.  She then became re-acquainted with her high school sweetheart, T.C. Brookins, and they were married for 4 years before his passing.
Charlene is survived by her siblings, Anna Grace Holt of Sherman; Johnny Rigsby and wife, Dorothy, of Savoy; Walter Rigsby and wife, Jane, of Mesquite; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 3 sisters and 2 nephews.
Pallbearers were Larry Young, Joshua Rigsby, John Hawk, J.D. Moore, Tom Melugin and Clete Stogsdill.  Her nephews served as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Boles Childrens Home in Quinlan, Texas.
"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.  There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."  Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new."  And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."  Revelation 21: 4-5
