Funeral services for Dr. Larry Wayne Edwards, 75, were held Monday, October 17 at Sherman Bible Church; he passed away October 14, 2016 at his home in McKinney after a 4 year battle with cancer.
Larry was born September 28, 1941 in Elk City, Oklahoma, son of George Wayne and Edith Lorene Kilpatrick Edwards.  He graduated from Hereford High School and earned at Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University.  On August 18, 1963 Larry married Carol Ann Newell in Hereford.  They moved to Sherman in 1965 where Larry practiced veterinary medicine until his retirement in 2014.  After the loss of his wife in 2008,  he met and married Kristy Carmichael on November 29, 2008.  He was a deeply deovted husband, father and grandfather.  He and Carol Ann were among the founding members of Sherman Bible Church; he did mission work in several foreign countries over the years.  Larry was a Dallas and OSU Cowboys fan and always enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing tennis and golf.
Dr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Kristy Edwards, of McKinney; his mother of Sherman; daughter, Clair Petelski and husband, Todd, of Van Alstyne; step-daughter, Taylor Carmichael Wynkoop and husband, Lee, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; step-daughter, Meredith Carmichael of Austin; step-son Brody Carmichael of Austin; 4 grandchildren, Ashely Gray Barnes and husband, Chase, of Houston; Abby Gray of McKinney; Samuel and Mazie Petelski of Van Alstyne; son-in-law, Mike Gray, of Baltimore, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife, Carol Ann Edwards; daughter, Camille Gray; sister, Linda Edwards Whitney.

Sherman - Funeral services for Carol Ann Edwards were held Tuesday afternoon, March 18, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Sherman.  Dr. Dennis Henderson of the Sherman Bible Church and Rev. John Maisel, president of East/West Ministries officiated.  Mrs. Edwards, 67, went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2008 following a brief illness.
Carol Ann was born October 3, 1940 in Hereford, Texas, daughter of Gaylord and Virginia Carlyle Newell.  She attended Hereford schools and was a graduate of Oklahoma State University.  Carol Ann and Larry Edwards were married on August 18, 1963 in Hereford.  Carol Ann and Larry were among the founding families of Sherman Bible Church where they faithfully served for the past 36 years.  She lovingly served her family, church, and the community, including the Pregnancy Care Center, Sherman Service League, and the Needlework Guild.  Her last few years were spent serving the women of Kazakhstan through East/West Ministries.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Larry of Sherman; 2 daughters, Camille Gray and husband, Mike, of Georgetown, Texas; and Clair Petelski and husband, Todd, of Sherman; 4 grandchildren, Ashely and Abby Gray of Georgetown; and Samuel and Mazie Petelski of Sherman; sisters, Marily Peck of Texarkana, Texas; and Gayle Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico; mother-in-law, Loene Edwards of Sherman; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol Ann was a belovesd wife, mother, nana, aung and friend.  She was well known ofr her warm and gracious hospitality, wonderful cooking, and beautiful needlework
