 Mamie L. Pelley 23 April 1914 - 10 November 2008 William J. "Bill" Pelley 7 December 1913 - 8 March 2003 wed 1 December 1935  The Herald Democrat November 13-14, 2008 Sherman - Mamie L. Pelley, 94, passed away on November 10, 2008 at the Homestead of Sherman. Dannel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Graveside services were held at West Hill Cemetery Friday, November 14 with Rev. Lander Bethel of Grand Ave. Presbyterian Church officiating. Mamie was born in Sherman on April 23, 1914, daughter of E.B. and Sarah Hornbeck Simpson. She was raised by C.J. Burris and Sarah Hornbeck. On December 1, 1935 she was married to W.J. Pelley, who preceded her in death on March 8, 2003. Mamie was a homemaker who loved to cook and she took pride in her family. She especially enjoyed her granddaughter and great-grandsons. She was a member of Grand Ave. Presbyterian Church. Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, father and a brother, Bud Simpson. Survivors include a son, Bill Pelley and wife, Sheri, of Weston, West Virginia; and a granddaughter, Cindy Fields and husband, Greg, of Hendersonville, Tennessee; and 3 great-grandchildren: Andrew Fields, Zach Fields, and Ethan Fields, all of Hendersonville, Tennessee; Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Simpson, Bud Newman and Wayne Smith.
