Ed Opel Dead
Ed Opel died at his residence on South Montgomery street today at 1:30 p.m. of Paralysis.  The deceased was taken ill very suddenly last Friday while in the performance of his duty as foreman in the tinning department at the hardware house of Roberts, Hardwick & Taylor.  It was thought at the time to be dengue, but a day later it developed into paralysis and in a short time he was stricken speechless and died in that condition.  The deceased had been a citizen for a number of years and his employers will be at a loss to find a man who can fill his place as well as he did.  He leaves a wife and family to whom is offered our sincerest sympathy.
All that was mortal for Ed Opel was taken from the family residence on South Montgomery street this morning at 11 o'clock, and taken to the city cemetery, where he was laid away in last couch, there to sleep in peace and quietude until the trumpet shall sound the roll call and all will be judged for the deeds done in the flesh.  Rev. Dr. Moore, of the First Presbyterian church officiated, both in the services at the house and at the grave.  We extend our sympathies to the bereaved family.
