Our beloved Missi Deanne Thrasher passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 6, 2023. With sad, but grateful hearts, we cherish the days the Lord gave her to spend with us.
Born in Macon, Georgia on October 14, 1965, a lifelong and devout Christian, Missi spent her life unconditionally caring for her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother, always thinking of others before herself.  She was a warm, cheerful and graceful woman who enjoyed spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Tony Kitchens and father, Bob Bacon.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years, James  F. "Jim" Thrasher; daughter, Sheridan Scott-Valdes and her 2 children, Vincent and Lyric; son, Jarrett Thrasher and wife, Mary; mother, Shirley Bacon of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, Bobby Bacon and wife, Angie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Missi prioritized quality time spent together through family dinners, game nights, sports practices, home school classes, and field trips. She had a gift for turning bad days into good, and ordinary days into extraordinary.  Phone calls consisted of multiple "I'll talk to you later, love you!" before she remembered one more question she needed to ask or one more encouragement she needed to give - her master plan to spend an extra 5 minutes with those  she cared for.  She loved connecting the various calendars of her husband, kids and grandkids, making herself the organizer of the family.  She consistently checked in on her kids, available at the drop of a hat to fulfill her title of Mom or Nana.  She never left those in her life questioning her unconditional love and support.
Missi was a passionate educator who focused her time on teaching her children and grandchildren how to be the best versions of themselves.  She home schooled both her son and daughter for multiple years of grade school.  Once her grandchildren arrived, "Mom" became known as "Nana" and she had the opportunity to teach her youngest grandson up until her passing.  Missi spent countless hours working on math drills with him, conjuring up ways to turn unit studies into whimsical adventures, or turning the kitchen into a science lab for experiments.
Missi loved her husband fiercely, continually by his side at appointments, trips to the Farmer's Marker on weekends, and impromptu lunch dates. Undoubtedly best friends.  They spent every day together. They loved playing golf together and decided on a celebratory golf vacation over a wedding when they married in 1995.  Her last days were spent surrounded by people she loved and those who loved her, enjoying every moment of her life together.  Priceless memories that her family will hold tightly, and love and enjoyment that will be immeasurably missed.
Services were held at Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas on Wednesday afternoon, October 11, 2023.  The service was followed by an interment at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.
