77 New Cases at Sherman
(Special to The News)
Sherman, Texas, Oct. 17 - 77 new  cases of Spanish influenza and 2 deaths from pneumonia were reported here in the last 24 hours.  William Nicket [sic}, 35 years of age, died at 2 o'clock t his morning.  He is survived by his wife and a 5-year-old daughter and a brother, Philip Nickel, Jr. of Highland, California.
Riley Dennis, 19 years of age, a candy maker, died at 9:30 o'clock this morning.  His wife, Mrs. Rita Dennis, and his parents survive him.

William Dennis, 86 years of age, died in Dallas Saturday, at the age of 86.  The remains were brought to Sherman Sunday afternoon at 12:18 o'clock, and funeral services took place from the chapel of the John C. Dannel Undertaking Company Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.H. Zipprodt, pastor of East Sherman Baptist Church.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Dennis is survived  by a son, F.A. Dennis, formerly of Sherman.  The remains were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Dennis
