AGED MAN DIES
J.W. Rogers, 82, died at the home of his son, W.H. Rogers, who lives across Red River near Tuck's ferry on the Texas side, Tuesday morning about 6 o'clock from the effects of a kidney trouble.  L.T. Burton, the  undertaker here, was called and prepared the body for burial and Wednesday morning sent his hearse over and conveyed  the remains to Sherman, Texas, where they were laid to rest Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sherman conducting the funeral service.  The deceased was well known to our people and was considered one of the best citizens of that section.

Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Rogers died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.V. Elmore, 604 E. Wells, Monday at 5 p.m. after a short illness.  The body was to remain at the home of her daughter until time of  the services Wednesday afternoon at the Talley Funeral Home.  Rev. Joe B. Rice, pastor of the Fundamentalist Baptist Church was in charge of services.  Interment was in West Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by 6 daughters: Mrs. Lucy Loyd, Ardmore, Oklahoma; Mrs. H.T. Cotten, Waurika, Oklahoma; Mrs. J.B. Potter, San Antonio; Mrs. W.S. Blake and Mrs. Elmore of Sherman.  She is also survived by one son, Walter H. Rogers of Mangum, Oklahoma; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Kentucky in 1855.  She had lived with her daughter in Sherman for the past year.  She had been a member of the Baptist church since childhood.
