He was born on June 17, 1921 in Arkansas City, Kansas.   After graduating from high school, he attended Arkansas City Junior College.  He married Betty Graham on December 1, 1944. Donald served in the Army Air Force.  He was a faithful member of Parkside Baptist Church.  He loved his church and spent many hours doing volunteer work and serving the lord with his gifts.  Donald was a family man who loved spending time with his family and grandkids and great-grandkids.
In his early school days he studied and played the violin.  In high school and junior college, he continued to play the violin in the school orchestra, going on to the Symphony Orchestra and even the special orchestra where they played for "The Messiah", school plays and school proms.
Donald retired from Management for the grocery store business and later retired again from Prestonwood Baptist Church where he and Betty served in the maintenance department for 10 years.  Another ministry that Donald and Betty served together was catering for church wedding receptions for 5 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Turner; daughter, Sharon "Sherry" McClean and husband, Steve, of Denison, Texas; son, Rod Turner and wife, Melinda, of Saratoga Springs, Utah; 5 grandchildren: Wade McClean and wife, Misty, of Beebe, Arkansas; Amy McMillon and husband, Deon Nelson, of Tampa, Florida; and Justin Turner and wife, Carrie, of Dallas.   Donald is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews.
