Funeral services for Ella Mae Silvey were held Monday morning, October 29 at West Sherman Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Wood of the church officiated.  Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were her sons, John, Stephen, Timothy, Paul, Daniel and Joel and sons-in-law, Kevin Lingemann and Keith Gerrels.
Mrs. Silvey passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Texoma Medical Center at the age of 73.
Ella Mae was born April 30, 1934 in Hettinger, North Dakota, daughter of Emil and Bertha Miller Schnieder.  She graduated from Valley City State Teacher's College in North Dakota and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma.   Ella married John A Silvey on August 5, 1945 in Hettinger.  Mrs. Silvey taught school for many years and was an active member of the local churches they attended, teaching the children's Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School.  Mrs. Silvey also taught night school for troubled children and those striving to obtain their GED.
Mrs. Silvey is survived by her husband of 51 years; 6 sons, John Mark Silvey of Austin, Texas; Stephen David Silvey of Plano, Texas; Timothy James Silvey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Paul Thomas Silvey of Justin, Texas; Daniel Phillip Silvey of Plano; and Joel  Andrew Silvey of Carrollton, Texas; 2 daughters, Esther Lingemann of Cherokee, Oklahoma and Mary Elizabeth Gerrels of Garland, Texas; 10 grandchildren: Kristin Silvey, Kayla Silvey, Sarah Gerrels, Matthew Silvey, Michael Silvey, Megan Silvey, Joshua Silvey, John  Silvey, Jaden Silvey and Kilyn Silvery; one brother, Clifford Schneider of Spokane, Washington; and 4 sisters, Laura Fisher of Ashley, North Dakota; Doreen Edwards of Terre Haute, Indiana; Vera Wahl of Chanhassen, Minnesota; and Phyllis Neilson of Pine Have, Wyoming.
Memoials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County and West Sherman Baptist Church.




Sherman -  John Silvey was born September 20, 1925, son of Mary Eleanor Fillmore and Alvin Alonzo Silvey in Atlanta, Georgia.  He went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2012  at the age of 87.
John was preceded indeath by his wife, Ella Mae Silvey.
He is survived by 8 children and their spouses and 12 grandchildren starting from the oldest to youngest:  John Silvey and daughters, Kristin and Kayla;  Ester and  Kevin Lingemann; Mary and Keith Gerrels and daughter, Sarah; Stephen Silvey; Tim Silvey and daughter Megans and sons, Mathew and Michael; Paul and Rebecca Silvey and sons, Joshua and John; Dan and Maria Silvey and daughter, Emma and son, Felipe; and Joel and Tressa Silvey and daughters, Jaden and Kilyn.
The funeral was held at West Sherman Baptist Church Saturday afternoon, September 29th with graveside services at West Hill Cemetery immediately following the ceremony.  The Wake was held at Waldo Funeral Home.
