MAN CRUSHED  UNDER HOUSE
C.W.Shelton Dies From Injuries Sustained While Moving Building

C.W. Shelton, 65, 835 W. Pecan street, died in Sherman Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock from injuries sustained Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock while he was helping to move a house on a farm 8 miles east of the city.  Mr. Shelton was working under t he...and attempted to crawl from under it, when his body was caught between the house and a log, while the house was moving.  The lower part of his body was badly crushed.  Following the accident he was brought to the city and rushed to St. Vincent's Sanitarium in an ambul ance from the Steward M. Scott Undertaking Company.
Mr. Shelton was born in Hood county, Texas, 65 years ago, but had lived in Sherman for many years.  He was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.  He had been engaged in house moving in Sherman for more than 18 years.
He is survived by his widow,  Mrs. Mattie Shelton; and 11 children, Edna and Edith Shelton; Mrs. Nick Fox, Mrs. Jim Barnett; and Mrs. Jim Hall, of Sherman; Ralph and Emmett Shelton, Sherman; Dewey Shelton of Beaumont; Roley Shelton, of Clarksville; John Shelton, of Clarksville; Nolan Shelton, of Cameron.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
