August 24, 1978 pg. 23 Mrs. Rickel was born in Lynnville, Tennessee, daughter of Rufus Leigh and Kate Ewing Bush. The former Sherman, Texas resident died in an Austin, Texas hospital. She was a graduate of Kidd-Key College in Sherman and was married to George J. Birge. Following his death in 1928, she later married Francis J. Rickel. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had lived in Austin 8 years, having moved there from California. Pallbearers were Jack Birge, Joe S. Birge, George J. Birge, John H. Birge, Robert E. Bauer, Jr., George W. Birge, R.L. Heflin and John H.
