 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Mary Alice Whitney 24 April 1932 - Harold Wayne Whitney 25 May 1931 - 6 April 2008   Harold Wayne WHitney 25 May 1931 - 6 April 2008 SR US Navy Harold Wayne Whitney, 76, of Sherman passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at his residence. He was born May 25, 1931 in Lamar County, son of Albert and Dessie Robinson Whitney. After serving in the United States Navy, he spent 52 years in the grocery business, including his own store, Denison City Market and Whitney Grocery, formerly Tuley's in Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Ray and Bob; a sister, Jo Gibson; and daughter, Vickie DeWeese Whitney. Survivors include his wife of 53 years; 2 sons; one daughter; one sister; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Wednesday morning, April 9, 2008 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.
