Ray F. Ridings
1927 - 2014

Emma Lou Cate Ridings, 91, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Sherman, Texas.
Lou was born December 17, 1928 in Grapevine, Texas, daughter of Tucker and Ethel Cate.  She marred Ray Frank Ridings on October 1, 1949.   She and Ray had 2 children, Connie and Kathy, and enjoyed 65 years of love, joy and companionship before Ray's death in 2014,
She was an active member and supportive partner in business with her husband. They owned a business in Greenville and lived there for several years before relocating to Sherman in 1973, where Ray and Lou owned Ray Ridings Chrysler Dodge dealership.  Lou continued her involvement in the family business until her death.  She and Ray were active and supportive members of First Baptist Church where Lou enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Lou was a long-time member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority in Sherman, and she and Ray cultivated many life-time friendships there as well as in their church family.  Lou also enjoyed membership with a special group of friends in the Third Tuesday Bridge Club.  Lou had a quick wit and was loved and cherished by many.  She was a classy lady and alwyas looked her best for every occasion.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie RIdings Arvin and son-in-law, Kerry, of San Antonio; grandchildren: Amy Crow Morris and husband, Jason, of Canton, Texas; John David Crow and wife, Jolie, of Canton, Texas; Leah Crow Smith and husband, Brian, of Fairfax, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Crow; Will Morris; John Garrett Crow; Alyssa Crow; Kathy Smith; Harper Crow; Meredith Smith; Caitlynn Smith, Rydin Crow; and Gardner Smigh; siblings, Betty Hendrix of Pflugerville, Texas; Peggy Eubanks of Grapevine, Texas; and Billy Cate of Bonham, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Kathy Ridings Crow.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, December 15, 2020 at First Baptist Church followed by a graveside service at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.  Due to COVID, we are asking that you practice social distancing and wear a mask.  Those who wish to observe the gravside service from their car are invited to do so.
Also, due to COVID the family home will not be open for visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Building the Legacy" fund at First Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas.
