MRS. CATHERINE [sic] McCOY MORRIS DIES SUNDAY NIGHT
Mrs. Catherine McCoy Morris, widow of the late H.S. Morris of this city, died at the family home at 510 South Travis street Sunday night at 9:30 o'clock following a short illness with pneumonia.  Mrs. Morris was 69 years of age and was reared in this county.
Funeral  services were held from the family home Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. L.S. White, pastor of Walnut Street Church of Christ, of which Mrs. Morris was a member, and assisted by Rev. George F. Cuthrell and Corda Howard of the Celtic Church.
Mrs. Morris was a native of Missouri but came with her parents at an early age to Van Alstyne, where she was reared.  She was married in 1872 to H.S. Morris and of this union the following sons and daughters survive: Mrs. R.H. Douglass, Mrs. L.B. Edwards, Mrs. L.M. Bradley, Mrs. W.F. Crocker, all of Van Alstyne; W.V. Morris, A.J. Morris and Miss Alma Morris, all of Sherman; and T.O. Morris of Oklahoma City.
Until 6 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Morris resided on their farm 6 miles south of Sherman, when they removed to Sherman.  Mr. Morris died in December of last year after a short illness.
The pall bearers for the service Monday were Lee Simmons, Barlow Roberts, Tom H. Smith, Tom L. Tennison, B.D. Dye, Frank Young, Frank Douglas, and H.C. Thompson.  Interment was in West Hill Cemetery.
