Sherman - Melba Janette Paine Hamel was born on January 4, 1936 in Sherman, Texas, daughter of James and Effie Buchanan Paine and departed this life on Thursday, July 9. 2015 at the age of 79.  Janette lived most of her life in Sherman.  She worked as a nurse's assistant over 40 years.  Her passion was caring for and taking care of people who were sick.  Janette was a selfless and giving person, and everyone who knew her, loved her.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and baking all kinds of goodies.  Janette was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Denison and devoted her time to church activities when needed.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons. Ricky and Michael; daughter, Debbie; 3 sisters and one brother.
Janette is survived by her daughter, Donna Berry; son, Scott Hamel; daughter, Monica Saenz and husband, Miguel; daughter, Michelle Wortman; son. Gregg Hamel and wife, Suzi; all of Sherman; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Young and wife, Wanda; twin sister, Mary Annette Inman and husband, Vernon, of Sherman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Monday morning, July 13, 2015 at West Hill Cemetery with Pastor Tom Patzer officiating.  Christine Harding provided the music at the gravesite.
