Funeral services were held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for Robert Stewart Swaney, formerly of Pattonville, who died September 16, 1959.  Aged 48, he had resided in Oklahoma City for the last 13 years, although known by many residents of the Kittanning-Ford City area.
Born September 1, 1911 in Armstrong County, he was a son of Robert F. and Jennie Gillespie Swaney.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Pankey Swaney; a son, John, at home; 3 sisters, Mrs. Amelia "Peggy" Bolkus and Viola Swaney of Philadelphia; and Mrs. Hazel Swartz of Cleveland, Ohio; 4 brothers, Frank Swaney of California; Earl Swaney of Ford City; Charles A. Swaney of Kittanning, RD 4; and William Swaney of Mantua, Ohio; and a nephew, Harry Swaney.
Burial was in Oklahoma City.

Editor's Note: Mr. Swaney's obit says he was born in Armstrong County, but his parents lived in New Kensington in 1910 and after; and his death certificate and military records give his place of birth as New Kensington.  The obituary also states he was buried in Oklahoma City, but his tombstone is in West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Grayson County, Texas.
