Tom Bean - Graveside services for Gyneth Blackburn Luby, 88, of Tom bean, were held Monday, October 21st at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Mrs. Luby died October 14, 1995 in a Bedford Hospital.
Officiating the service was Rick McKenzie, one of Mrs. Luby's great-nephews.
Arrangements were under the direction of Blue Bonnet Hills Funeral Home of Colleyville.
Mrs. Luby was born May 2, 1908 in Howe. She was a graduate of Howe High School, Kidd Key College, North Texas and Austin College. She began her teaching career in 1917 at Tom Bean ISD. She taught English, Spanish, and fifth grade from which she retired in 1972 after over forty years of teaching.
She was a wife of A. S. (Siah) Luby who preceded her in death in July 1979.
Surviving are her sister, Marjorie Terhune of Springfield, Mo.; a nephew, Jim Terhune of California; a niece, Millie McKenzie of Bedford; and several great-nieces and great-nephews
