200-Mile Strip in Texas Is Hit by Tornado, Hail Storm
One Man Killed, 22 Injured and Damages Heavy

At least one tornado, thunderstorms and hail as much as two inches in diameter belted a 200-mile strip in North Texas Wednesday, wrecking homes, commercial buildings and garages.
Damage was believed to be in the millions of dollars.  Lee Barnes, an elderly nightwatchman on an oil well in the north part of Sherman, was killed.
At least 22 persons were reported injured.  They included 15 persons at Sherman.....The tornado reported hit at the populous Sherman area, about 60 miles north of Dallas.  It also hit the nearby towns of Bells and Bonham....
PERRIN AIR FORCE BASE  (Near Sherman) - Power completely knocked out.  Runways littered with debris.  Field closed to traffic....
