Virginia Yowell Vincent Ridley

Funeral services for Mary Virginia Yowell Vincent Ridley, age 94, of Sherman, Texas were held Friday afternoon, February 26, 2016 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Bob Shepherd officiated.  Burial was at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.  Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Virginia was born in Whitewright on May 8, 1921 [sic], daughter of Thomas A. and Bertha Sue Hicks Yowell.  She attended and graduated from Sherman High School in 1939.  She began working for the Texas Telephone Company and served 24 years before retiring.
Virginia married Holly Vincent in 1941 and he preceded her in death.  She later married John Ridley on October 18, 1969.  He preceded her in death.  Virginia was a faithful and active member of the East Sherman Baptist Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her 2 husbands; one sister, Tommie Hollenbeck; 4 brothers, Durwood, Marvin, Ovell and Carthel Yowell; one great-grandson, Ethan Sheilds; and one son-in-law, James Hawkins.

HOLLY VINCENT DIES IN WACO VA HOSPITAL
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Dannel Funeral Chapel here for Holly D. Vincent, 51, of 2024 E. Jones, a native of Tom Bean, who died Thursday afternoon in the Veterans Hospital, Waco, after a long illness. Rev.  R.A. Williams, pastor of the East Sherman Baptist Church, conducted the services  Burial was in West Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Masonic rites at the grave.  G.V. Snowden, Bill Day, Johnny Morris, Joe Chumbley, Jerry Smith and R.C. Harmon served as pallbearers.
Mr. Vincent was born July 11, 1914, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson Vincent.  On February 1, 1941, he married Miss Virginia Yowell of Sherman.  During World War II he served in the Army Engineers and was in the National Guard.  He attended Sherman schools and was a member of the Baptist Church, American Legion and the Travis Lodge Masons.
Survivors are his parents; his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Judy Yarbrough and husband, Wayne, of Lubbock; and Miss Joan Vincent of Sherman; 2 brothers, Herman Vincent of Sherman; and Jack P. Vincent of Odessa; a sister, Mrs. Trula Morrow and husband, J.N., of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.
