Mrs. Tirzah Shock, 67, died Saturday, October 30, 1943, at 7:15 a.m. at her home, 1434 S. Travis.  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Travis Street Methodist Church, conducted by Neal D. Canon, pastor.  Arrangements were handled by Dannel-Scott.
Mrs. Scott was born June 23, 1876 at Elida, Ohio, daughter of Abia and Phoeba Myers John.  After her married on Decmeber 24, 1898 at Elida to C.A. Shock, the couple came to Grayson county in 1904.  She was actve in music circles and was a member of Travis Street Methodist Choir for 30 years.
Survi vors include her husband; 3 sons, Chad E. Shock of Vidauri; F. Karl Shock of Comanche; and Donald Shock of Sherman; 2  brothers, Jesse and Mounts John of Elida; sister, Mrs. Ella John of Findley, Ohio; and 4 grandchildren.




Clinton A. Shock, 84, manager for many years of the Texas Telephone Co. in Sherman, died Sunday afternoon, November 8, 1959 at his home in Corpus Christi.  The Texas Telephone Co. was a predecessor of the General Co.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in First Methodist church here, conducted by Dr. J. Daniel Barron, pastor.  Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
Mr. Shock was born March 13, 1875 in Allentown, Ohio, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Shock.  He came to Texas from Ohio in 1904.  Mr. Shock was employed by the Texas Telephone Co. in Sherman for 28 years.  He was general manager at the time of his retirement.  He was active in Sherman affairs, particularly in the Red River Valley Fair Association.  He had lived in Corpus Christi 9 years.  He was a member of the Methodist Church there.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mrs. Myra  Dillingham, whom he married in 1944; 3 sons by a previous marriage, Chad E. Shock of Refugio, F. Karl Shock and Donald C. Shock, both of Sherman; 2 brothers, Ira Shock of Afton, Oklahoma and Harley of Lima, Ohio; 4 sisters, Mrs. Mark Sowers of Convoy, Ohio; Mrs. Jessie Dershem and Mrs. Clinton Shinabery, both of Lima; and Mrs. V.L.  Bowers of Pemberton, Ohio; and 4 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.M. Stimson, Leon Foshee, Frank Thompson, V.R. Henderson, T.E. Aston, and Raymond Dean.
