Sherman - Graveside services for Bobby Gene Nelson, Sr. were held Friday, May 10, 2013 at West Hill Cemetery with Bro. Roy Webster officiating.  Mr. Nelson passed away on Tuesday at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Bobby was born to Euless Paul and Johnnie Ellis Nelson on July 4, 1932 in Savoy.  He came with his family to Sherman at the age of 12.  Bobby married Patsy Senn on April 8, 1961 in Durant, Oklahoma.  Bobby worked as master diesel mechanic and was employed with Graham International for 15 years, then owned and operated his own business for 10 years, and retired from Tom Bean Schools in 2003 after 18 years.  Bobby was a woodworking craftsman, and enjoyed fishing and anything mechanical.  He was an all-around handyman and very talented with his hands.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father; son, Ricky Don Nelson; and brother, Jimmy Nelson.
He is survived by his mother, Johnnie Nelson of Sherman; wife, Patsy, of Sherman; son, Phillip Nelson, of Denison; daughter, Janet Aldridge and husband, Biff, of Pottsboro; daughters, Shelley Saenz of Sherman; son, Bobby Nelson, Jr. and wife, Kaye, of Cartwright, Oklahoma;son, Randy Nelson and wife, Penny, of Sanger; sister, Shirley Caldwell of Sherman; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. - - - Waldo Funeral Home.

Sherman - Mrs. Johnie Lorena Nelson, 98, of Sherman went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2013.
Johnie was born February 25, 1915 in Princeton to John Washington Ellis and Mary Jane Sanders Ellis.  She was the youngest of 9 children.
Johnie was married on September 12, 1931 to Eulas Paul Nelson.  Four children were born to this union: Bobby Gene, Jackie Paul, Shirley Yvonne and Jimmy Wayne.
Johnie loved her family.  There was not a family member she couldn't call by name, and she was always ready and willing to help each one.  She loved working in her yard and taking care of her many flowers.  She thoroughly enjoyed sewing doll clothes and dressing her porcelain dolls.  Johnie also loved to crochet.
Johnie is survived by her children, Jackie Paul Nelson and Shirley Yvonne Caldwell; two daughters-in-law, Patsy and Linda Nelson; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two children: Bobby Gene Nelson and Jimmy Wayne Nelson; grandson, Ricky Nelson; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, October 3 at West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Roy Webster of Grayson Bible Baptist Church officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.
