 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Otis "Jim" Leverette 12 January 1928 - 12 February 2007 Helen Leverette 30 January 1929 - 15 October 2019 wed 27 January 1945  Sherman - Funeral services for Helen Jean Leverette were held Friday morning, October 18, 2019 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Ellison and Rev. Kevin George officiated. Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery with Eric Bernard, Jathan Gurley, Dakota Leverette, Brayden Byrd, Bryson Byrd serving as pallbears. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leverett, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Texoma Healthcare in Sherman. Helen was born January 30, 1929 in Melvin, Texas, daughter of Ewelll McAfee and Edna Forest Isom. On January 27, 1945 she and Otis Leverette married. Helen retired from Johnson & Johnson and enjoyed cooking, "raising babies", and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Leverette is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Groves of Chico, Texas; Nancy Bernard and husband, Mike, of Sherman; and Pam Gurley and husband, Jack, of Sherman; one son, John Leverette and wife, Susan, of Sherman; 10 grandchildren, Kristi Byrd and husband, Alan, of Bridgeport; Malina Anderson and husband, Chico, of Sherman; Eric Bernard of Sherman; Jennifer Benedict and husband, Shane, of Sherman; Jathan Gurley and wife, Allison, of Celina; Dakota Leverette of Sherman; Joshua Leverette of Sherman; Frances David of Aurora, California; Reed David of Sherman; and Ellen Peniston of Corinth, Texas; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and infant son, Jerry Leverette. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
